It was a year ago today

A year ago today, we woke up to the news that our Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, had been killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi.  Three other men, Sean Smith, Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty, were also killed during the massacre. The details were murky at that time, but there was no question: this was Islamic terrorism.  In fact, other Islamic riots took place in those nations which, we were told, were the beneficiaries of Hillary and Barry’s Kumbayah “Arab Spring,” where peace, love and Jeffersonian democracy were served up to those joyous students who had been protesting in the streets.  Who were we to suggest that the Muslim Brotherhood might be playing some role in all this? benghazi4

But no matter.  Hillary and Barry brought democracy to the Middle East, or so they told us, and our American media sold this outrageous lie to the public.  To object to it was to deny those poor students all that we have here, and we wouldn’t want that, would we?

So we had the Arab Spring, which led to the massacre on 9-11.

And what did the President do?   Tell us the truth  – that they KNEW who had done this and why, and that for weeks, days and hours before the attack Ambbassador Stevens had requested assistance, KNOWING that an attack was imminent, even scheduled for that day?  Did President Obama acknowledge those requests, and did he confess that Hillary – yes, that Hillary, the darling of the Democrats – had refused those requests, and others that were sent even during the attack, leaving this man and others to die?


He neither told the truth, nor obfuscated.  In fact, what he did was so outrageous it defies understanding.

He lied.  He lied to all of us. He had the sociopathic immorality to stand in front of the American people and in subsequent days, to stand before the families of those men as well as their very bodies, now in flag-draped caskets, and LIE.  He created a scapegoat, and lied to our faces, over and over.  And the nature of this lie is – or would be, if we weren’t so exhausted by his continued denigration of this nation – breathtaking.

President Obama –  the President of the United States of America, that land of the free and the home of the brave, that nation which has as one of its fundamental pillars of the nation the guaranteeing of our Creator-given right to free speech – this president who took an oath to uphold this constitution, blamed this massacre on a youtube video made by – an American.

He didn’t just make up some random lie, oh no, not this President.  Even if he HAD thought that it was due to a youtube video, which he didn’t, the right, the presidential response would have been to stand up for the right of this man to make such a video, and to excoriate those who might be inflamed into such bloodlust by such a thing, rather than to blame this American who only was exercising his God-given and constitutionally-protected right to create such a video.

Even if it HAD been “caused by” a youtube video, it is the task of the  President of the United States, to stand by the Constitution, not to denigrate the videographer.  The message that a President who believes in his core in the rightness of the Constitution would have given, would have been this: “ In America, we guarantee the God-given right to free speech, and the young man who made this video also has a right to do so.  If there are those who respond to this with violence, then it is they who need to be held accountable, and not the creator of such a film.  We stand behind this young man, and intolerance of the kind that we are witnessing must be fought against.”

Except no.

Except that this president in no way believes any of this.  He knew that it wasn’t due to a youtube video, and deliberately lied about it – most eloquently in fact, and repeatedly.  And in his bones, he does not support free speech – in his bones, in his marrow, he has no use for any aspect of the Constitution whatsoever.  And he stood before the UN and blamed the video:  “”It was a crude and disgusting video. It sparked outrage throughout the muslim world.  I have made it clear the United States government had nothing to do with this video.”

And Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stood before the caskets of these brave men, and implied that the slaughter in Benghazi was due to the video:  . “We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies as a result of an awful internet video”

As Katie Pavlich sums up:  “Hillary Clinton lied, [US Ambassador to the UN Susan] Rice lied, Barack Obama lied, [Press Secretary] Jay Carney lied, the Obama administration lied. The men in Libya were left to die as military forces were told to stand down.”

And this is key:  The media never even blinked.  The administration lied, and the media obediently took out their steno pads and forwarded the Word to us.

The propaganda arm of the administration – of the leftist agenda generally – kicked into high gear and with their usual adulatory zest, told the American people what Obama and Clinton wanted them to hear:  it was a youtube video, nothing to see here, bad stuff happens.

Imagine if this had been a Republican president?


On September 12th, waking up to the news of the massacre, and then the subsequent lying, and the media acting as the obsequious PR arm of the leftist agenda, many of us pretty much went nuts.  We were horrified at what had happened, and we knew why, and then we were assailed with the lies from our President that were propagated by the media.  The layers of betrayal were too much to bear.

Without the media’s adulation over this “eloquent black man,” the freshman senator from Illinois would never have even become the nominee, let alone the President of the United States of America.  Any superficial digging would have revealed a story that, while exotic, did not demonstrate any kind of attributes that a President ought to have, and in fact, aspects that, had they been exposed to the light of day, would have been deterrents to voters.No Lapdog Media

How do we know they would have been deterrents?  Because they were withheld.  His college transcripts most certainly would reveal a mediocre student – otherwise they would be easier to get at.  Would they also reveal he was a foreign student?  It’s possible.  But their being so deeply hidden, and the media’s utter disinterest in even that, speaks volumes.  What about telling the story of his brother in Kenya and how Barack did nothing to help him, thus revealing his callousness?  What about exposés on the golden spoon that he has been given for most of his life, emphasizing that in no way has his experience been anything like that of most African-Americans, especially not like that of Trayvon Martin!  That the media didn’t spit its collective coffee over that one is shameful in and of itself.

One could go on for tomes on this, but suffice it to say:  the media lies, covers up, obfuscates, twists, omits, and lies some more in abeyance to this agenda, to this man and those who support him.  And until last September 11th, it was awful and annoying and infuriating and sickening.  But when the media’s complicity contributes to the death of our men, and then their continued complicity keeps in power those who are responsible, it’s time to fight back.

It was out of this disgust at the media that RAGE AGAINST THE MEDIA was born.

As long as we have a media that evangelizes for this president and his agenda, Americans are robbed of the truth we need to be responsible citizens.

As long as we have media that does what it can to influence rather than inform us, we will continue to encounter surreal situations such as we’ve been having over this last year, and especially in these last few days.

As long as the media refuses to see that its responsibility is to us, rather than to a leftist “progressive” agenda, our nation will continue to weaken, both domestically and internationally.

Rage Against the Media was created out of that horrific event that took place one year ago, with the purpose of fighting back.

And we are fighting back.  And our numbers are swelling, and we are angrier and angrier.

and we take action in a number of ways.  We hold rallies and protests, and fight back against the lies on Facebook and elsewhere. We distribute flyers, alerting others in our community that they are being betrayed by their media, and that we all have  right to the truth,

And in this year’s time, we have learned a lot.  The most important lesson?DSC_0099

Do not be silent. Where you see or hear lies, speak up. Where you can support the truth, do so.  Too many people shrug off the media – that they’ve always been corrupt, or that “nobody watches anyway”

There has never been corruption of this scale, and too many people DO watch.  Silence is acquiescence.

So how WAS the RATM Rally?

So, how was the rally?


On a sunny day in Westwood, California, with temperatures in the mid-70s, well over 100 people gathered to hear our phenomenal line-up of speakers and our world-class band, “The Black List.”  Tony Torres was our Master of Ceremonies, and ensured that the energy level was high, that the RAGE was directed at the MEDIA, and that we all were informed, entertained and inspired.speakers august

In addition, a number of activists lined up along Wilshire Boulevard with signs protesting against media corruption, bias and dishonesty generally.

This event brought together people from many disparate groups from all over southern wheelchair2California – we had people come up from San Diego and Orange County, and down from Woodland Hills, Simi Valley and Valencia. We had college students attending their first rally, and a number of our committed activists who have been at each of our events. This was a great opportunity for people to be able to meet each other for such an important cause, with a dozen outstanding speakers and some fantastic music. For a non-election event, and an event not addressing an issue of immediate crisis, it was an outstanding turnout.

As was made clear at the outset, the fight for honest journalism is not a partisan one!  All Americans suffer when our media lies to us.  A self-governing nation requires we the people to be informed, and when our media deliberately does NOT inform us, we are increasingly less capable of self-governance.

We see this every single day in our interactions with friends and family – people who really do feel they follow the news, but are aghast when we share something that the media has hidden.  Issues that range from Obamacare to the Zimmerman trial, from Fast &Furious and Benghazi to the Kermit Gosnell trial, from true joblessness numbers to real crime statistics, particularly

as they relate to gun control and race, from the truth about the Middle East,Common Core, Agenda 21 and on and on to just about everything- every single American  has a need to know the truth about these  issues because they affect each and every one of us.

Rage Against the Media is non-partisan because Obamacare – its costs and consequences – affects all of us; Common Core will reach all our children; joblessness hurts all of us; the hate-mongering by those black leaders who stir up racial divisiveness hurts all Americans, regardless of political affiliation.  A media that hides or lies about these stories hurts all of us.  A weak economy and a vulnerable nation are detrimental to ALL of us.  Rallying for HONEST JOURNALISM is a cause that all Americans should support.

Sadly, such is not the case.

How is it that Democrats, liberals, progressives, leftists – whatever you choose to call them – are OK with being lied to?  Just because the lies support their agenda doesn’t make them acceptable.  If a box of twinkies says that there are only 5 calories in each twinkie, that might make us happy to know, and we might eat more twinkies because of it, but the fact of the matter is – WE’LL STILL GET FAT.  The calorie count is what it is, regardless of the lie.  Leftist policies – and right-wing ones – need to be evaluated objectively.  The truth needs to be told about bills such as Obamacare, about programs such as the “War on Poverty,” about the consequences of gun control legislation, about why our President and Secretary of State Clinton refused

Why is it that only conservatives feel a need for honesty?  Why is it that leftists accept being lied to?

We know the answer.  When you feel lying benefits you, you accept it.  When you feel that the truth will hurt you, you fight it.

In other arenas, this is called cheating.

When we have media that evangelizes for one side rather than provides objective reporting, we lose the free marketplace of ideas, and no matter how hard conservatives try to come up with the best policies, candidates, strategies, none of it will matter with a media that does what it can to silence a voice other than theirs.

Rage Against the Media Rally – JOIN US!

Imagine the state of the country if we had honest media.

Go ahead.

Imagine if they told the stories that needed to be told – the truth about Obamacare, about the real joblessness statistics, about Fast and Furious, about the IRS scandals, about the Zimmerman case, about crime, about actual gun statistics…

If they told these stories, the entire nation would be a different place.

Imagine if they treated both political parties the same way – just imagine if there actually were a free marketplace of ideas, where candidates and policies were reported upon with equal skepticism and objectivity, rather than one party’s being evangelized for, and the other’s being ridiculed and vilified.

If they reported rather than propagandized, every aspect of our country would be different.

What we are experiencing here in the US is not the legitimate outcome of Americans’ choosing one ideology over another, but the natural consequence of a media that is complicit with one ideology and that is determined to silence any alternative.

Propaganda works.  Our media is all too effective at this propagandizing.

They lie to us.  They betray our trust.  They treat us as dupes.

And we allow them to.

It’s not only the right that suffers, however.  Their lying hurts all of us.  A bad economy, weak national security, crippling policies, not to mention the constant erosion of liberties hurts every single American.

We all complain about it, but one group is taking action.  And if you’re getting this email, you already know: RAGE AGAINST THE MEDIA is the ONLY group fighting this corruption and dishonesty.

Rallies – What’s the point?

Rallies.  What good are they?  Do they really accomplish anything?  Is it just a “little party” for people with nothing better to do?  What difference can they really make?

This is the kind of question I hear all the time when I tell people that Rage Against the Media is holding a rally.  “Oh, we definitely need to do something about the media!  But a Rally?  They never accomplish anything.”

Here are  questions I have in response.  “Would you know anything about the Tea Party if no rally had ever been held?  What if all the Tea Party ever did was create a website?”  Did the rallies actually accomplish anything?  YES – they WOKE PEOPLE UP to the fact that no matter where they lived, they were not alone in their anger at a government which blew past all the normal boundaries of American governance in every way.  This administration has been a poster-child for every major goal in the progressive agenda:  increasing taxes (gotta make things FAIR), government intrusion into every aspect of our lives (Obamacare being administered by the IRS) and turning its back on the Constitution (countless instances of Federal meddling into states’ business, Executive Branch overreach and skirting of checks and balances, innumerable Czars, and on and on.)
Without rallies, the Tea Party would never have become the force that it is.  Rallies increase visibility for a cause- they are not an end in themselves, but are part of a strategy of achieving an end.  In our case, that end is achieving media that is honest and objective.

As RATM activist Angi Bryan says “One of the best outcomes of a rally or a protest is that people are informed  – the more we rally, the more who get informed; the more who are informed,  the less that the media can get away with. We may never get them to do their duty, but if we inform the public the less their tactics are effective.”

In addition, though,  we must be honest:   On their own, rallies don’t, in fact, achieve anything.  If people leave our rally saying “well, that was fun!” and go back to their daily lives,  then indeed, the rally will have accomplished nothing. We want people to leave the event FURIOUS at what’s being done by the corrupt media, but INSPIRED AND rally goalsMOTIVATED to combat it!  The key to the effectiveness of a rally is what people do next.
That’s why one of our goals is to  create an army of citizen activists!  If each of us, every day, finds a way to get the truth out there, we can make a difference.   Every day, when you see some lie that the media’s telling, comment on it, email the journalist, set the record straight.    When they lie and we say nothing, we’re letting them get away with it, and look where that gets us.

There is no Freedom without an Independent Press: Freedom Fest 2013


It’s why we’re here today!  It’s why we’re celebrating  the BIRTH OF OUR NATION, our INDEPENDENCE-  FREEDOM  FROM A GOVERNMENT that  didn’t care about our rights, and only cared about what it could GET from us.

We celebrate FREEDOM from TYRANNY

NO TAXATION without REPRESENTATION – ah, they were fighting words back then, back in the day!

Our Founding Fathers declared their independence from this tyranny –  they took up arms, they went to war.  They fought and won, and we became an INDEPENDENT NATION,  one where the PEOPLE – that’s US – were sovereign!  One where WE THE PEOPLE elect, select, our government- one where those who governed do so at the CONSENT of the governed-at the consent of US. 

So we got this wonderful thing, this republic, this remarkable nation founded on an idea:  that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

What we got was a republic –that’s  Latin for A THING OF THE PEOPLE

And the PEOPLE – that’s  US!

And all this is well and good.  WE get to pick, WE get to vote, WE are what drives government WE are the ones who CHOOSE who we want to REPRESENT US


But choice ONLY works when we have FACTUAL, OBJECTIVE information on which to base our DECISIONS

And where do we get this information?  From our families, our own experience and education, our community and more broadly:  OUR NEWS MEDIA

The framers of the Constitution KNEW how important the media was in disseminating the truth, in letting WE THE PEOPLE know what our government is doing.  This is why they ensured that our press remain FREE from government interference.  It was so important that they included it in the bill of rights as part of the first amendment – not in the 2nd amendment, or the 8th, or the 10th, but it’s RIGHT THERE, in the first one alongside free speech and freedom of religion: 

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press “

Let me repeat that

“Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of the press.”

The OBVIOUS IMPLICATION is that the PRESS IS FREE; free from interference, free from restrictions, and especially, free to report on the goings on of the government.  Free to report on current events, free to report, without fear, on what our GOVERNMENT is doing.  The first amendment allowed the press to publish, without fear, matters of public concern,  as well as to permit criticism of the government .  As George Orwell said:  “Freedom of the Press, if it means anything at all, means the freedom to criticize and oppose.”

The first amendment told the government: 

You don’t get to Dictate what is or isn’t reported .  You don’t get to get in the way of information.  YOU don’t get to interfere in the informing of WE THE PEOPLE. 

And why is this so important?

Ben Franklin wrote in 1736: 

“Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins.”

And indeed,Ben was right.

Look at what tyrannies do:

In order to control the people in Germany, The Nazis seized control of the press, film and radio.  The Soviet Union and all Eastern Bloc countries – same thing–their government took control over the press

All  totalitarian regimes control the press –WHY?
Because when you control information, you control the people

Where you don’t control information, tyranny is made far more difficult to impose.  That why seizing the press is always, always a first step towards totalitarianism, towards TYRANNY.

I often hear people refer to our media as Pravda –the propaganda arm of the Soviet Union – ironically, the word Pravda means TRUTH

To, that, I say that actually what we have here is SO MUCH WORSE!

Our PRESS CHOOSES to be a propaganda arm of one political party, one agenda, ONE IDEOLOGY.  They have the RIGHT – the PROTECTED RIGHT  – to report freely on the government – this right is PROTECTED by the Constitution of the United States.  And they IGNORE IT!

This is-pardon me for saying so, but this is – insane!

We laughed at Chris Matthews when he said he’d do whatever he could to help this president succeed.  Not only was he being completely sincere, but the only thing that made him unique among our mainstream media reporters and commentators was his candor-he spoke for nearly all the reporters and networks who feed us what they call “news.”

Here’s the thing:

WE NEED THE TRUTH –the facts –  to make those decisions that contribute to our being responsible citizens.

When we are told LIES, or half-truths, or when entire stories are withheld from us, we can’t make good decisions

Imagine if street signs only told us the truth half the time – if the direction were incorrect, the highway name or number somehow something else or even omitted, or if the distance were totally wrong. 
We simply wouldn’t be able to function, to make the right decisions.

Here in California, not only do we have nutrition facts on food in the supermarket, but the calorie counts have to be displayed in restaurants – and they’re supposed to be accurate.  We make decisions based on this information – either because we’re watching calories or because we choose to not care!  It’s OUR CHOICE, one we can only make when we’re given accurate information. 

We demand truth in advertising – there are even LAWS that enforce it-

So why is it that a DISHONEST MEDIA is OK?


The other day, a few of us went to a local mall, handing out flyers about media corruption to passersby, asking them “Are you tired of being lied to by the media?” 
One man looked at me and said “TIRED?  I EXPECT IT”


Is it that news agencies have so little respect for us that they feel they are best able to decide FOR US?  Or is it that they KNOW that if we HAVE THE TRUTH, we will decide DIFFERENTLY from what they WANT us to decide?

Either way – IT’S NOT UP TO THEM! 

Their job is to inform, not to advocate!

The Society of Professional Journalists has this code of ethics:

“Members of the Society of Professional Journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalist is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues.”


Why then, do they LIE?

WHY Then, do they continue to insist that the TEA PARTY is full of racists and evil people?
Did you know that more Obama supporters think that the Tea Party is a bigger threat than Islamist Terrorists?

WHY do you think that is?

Remember how Ronald Reagan once said that “It’s not so much that our liberal friends don’t know anything – it’s that they know so much that isn’t so!”  Well, that’s in large part because of the media!

But the corruption of the media doesn’t hurt one party more than another:  when the economy tanks, WE ALL SUFFER

When our entire health care system is being destroyed, WE ALL SUFFER

When unemployment continues to be just a nightmare WE ALL SUFFER

And the media says nothing

Obama’s plan to address global warming?  We will ALL suffer and guess what?
THE PLANET has not been warming for 16eyears

When our national security is compromised, when we are weakened as a nation and are made vulnerable, WE ALL SUFFER – and the media says nothing.

Look at how the media trashed George Zimmerman right off the bat, and only showed cute kiddie pictures of Trayvon.  Remember how NBC Edited the 911 call to make Zimmerman look guilty?  And even now, how’s the coverage? 

What about the Kermit Gosnell trial – remember that?  Why didn’t the media cover that?  We know why.  Because it would show a ghastly side of abortion – a side which HAS to be kept hidden for people to not revolt against it.

And on that subject, how about how they treated Wendy, the “hero” who filibustered in Texas to stop a vote on a bill that would prohibit abortions after 20 weeks, and that would ensure that clinics meet higher standards than they do now – and she’s a HERO?


How about the immigration bill?  I’m not even saying if it’s good or bad –but how about some actual reporting on it? On the details, the consequences, the costs?

How about reporting on Obamacare back when it was a bill?  The costs, the implementation-through the IRS?  Really?  Are they reporting that unions want out?  About the waivers? That one of the biggest supporters Dem Max Baucus thinks now that it’s a train wreck? And now, it’s being postponed until after the 2014 election?  HA!!  If it were such a great thing, why aren’t they moving the date UP instead of back?

How about the outrageous coverage during the presidential elections?  Let’s not forget Candy Crowley’s LYING as a debate MODERATOR to COVER OBAMA’s LIE! 

And look:  we all talk about getting great candidates and improving our messaging, but as long as we have a media set on DESTROYING everything we do and say, and set on ELEVATING the other ideology, candidates and agendas, nothing else we do will matter.

And of course, let’s not forget Benghazi! 

What the media is doing is deliberately – DELIBERATELY – deciding for us what we should or shouldn’t know, and how we should feel about it.


I WANT TO BE THE ONE TO CHOOSE what’s news, what’s important, how I feel – I don’t want the media deciding FOR ME

I want to read the FACTS, then make up my own mind

I want to read the REAL unemployment numbers and decide if current policies are working, instead of reading the party line right out of the White House

How is it possible that our media –our PROTECTED MEDIA – chooses to be a propaganda machine NO BETTER THAN PRAVDA, and they DO THIS ON PURPOSE!

Here’s the thing:

Howard Zinn, a pseud-historian and author of one of the most widely used high school history texts (and one mentioned by Evan Sayet in his book KinderGarden of Eden) had this to say: 

“I knew that a historian (or a journalist, or anyone telling a story) was forced to choose, out of an infinite number of facts, what to present, what to omit. And that decision inevitably would reflect, whether consciously or not, the interests of the historian.” – or of the journalist.

He’s totally right.  When a reporter, or the news chief, looks at what’s going on out there, he or she makes a decision and chooses, out of all of those stories, what to present, what to omit.

And the choices, right now, are being made to further one party’s agenda, one party’s ideology- to protect those in power, and to destroy those with an alternative view.

They have forgotten what the purpose of a free press is:  to inform us on the goings-on in government, and to enable us to make informed choices about self-government that we the people, as good citizens, are responsible for making. 

When THEY make these choices for us, what are  they telling us?   That we aren’t worth telling the truth to, and that they know best.

Is that OK?


WE need NEWS we can rely on- otherwise, this whole FREE COUNTRY thing will fall into tyranny –and that is exactly what’s happening.  And our media is helping this along voluntarily.  They’re not even being coerced!  They’re doing this because they THINK THEY’RE RIGHT, and that we’re EITHER WRONG OR STUPID –or both.

IT’s time to take a stand and tell them WE DESERVE THE TRUTH and we EXPECT THEM TO PROVIDE it to us

Journalists should be watchdogs, not lapdogs. 
Too bad our journalists, with very few exceptions,  prefer to be lapdogs, and we all suffer for it.

Just the other day, President Obama chided “his media” and told them “to behave.”  THAT is how you treat a lapdog.

Chris Matthews was exactly right:  the media is doing all it can to help this man succeed.  But because of their doing so, we all suffer. 

When journalists become advocates for the powerful, WE THE PEOPLE suffer.

There is no freedom without an independent press.

Depravity in the Newsroom: the media advocates choice yet refuses to provide it

Sometimes we are inclined to give the media a pass when they don’t cover something of interest to us.  But too often, the media ignores stories that have relevance to us as a nation as well as profound human interest.   The case of the trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell is one such instance.  It has all the components of an exceedingly captivating news story:  a trial, deaths, babies, shock value, tragedy – a story that one would think would be front page news, perhaps potential Pulitzer material, immediate fodder for made-for-TV movies, a Law and Order episode or  just of interest for the sheer human tragedy of it – and the media, the American mainstream media that advertises itself as reporting the news,  has elected to ignore it. Those agencies, those corporate entities which pretend to be of value to Americans as the purveyors of news have decided for us that this story is not worthy of their time and our interest.  Or is it as simple as that?

Why is it that those elements of this trial that would make for a joyous media frenzy even while informing Americans about this man’s activities have not motivated media coverage? The answer is simple:  because this story runs counter to the media’s favored portrayal of one of the most deeply divisive issues of our day.  The left, and their media propagandists, only ever portray  abortion as merely “a woman’s choice,”  that vacuuming a “mass of cells no bigger than a quarter” is really all that this “choice” is about, that even an Obama daughter should be able to undergo this trivial procedure to prevent a “mistake” from “punishing” her with a child, that any attempt to curb a woman’s “right” to such a trivial procedure is nothing more or less than an intolerable infringement of a woman’s right to do with “her own body” as she chooses.  The media, in order to maintain this narrative, has no choice but to deliberately, and with full awareness of the depravity of its doing so, not allow the story of this trial to enter into the public view.  This blackout, more than almost any other, is proof positive that our media, actively and with malice aforethought, decides what will and what will not advance a political narrative. In this case, that narrative is that abortion is a benign choice for the good of all women, and infringement upon that right is evil. All alternative views must be silenced in order for this narrative to be swallowed; all dissent must be shouted down in any way possible because acknowledging the reality of screaming newborns being slaughtered would, of course, result in an outcry against this inhumane and indeed murderous practice, and Americans, even Democrats, would recoil from the horrors of policies that permit it.

So many of our liberal friends plead that the left and right “want the same things, we just disagree on how to get there.”  What the media blackout on the Gosnell trial demonstrates is how utterly wrong and naïve this is.  That there is even a question of whether to cover this slaughter of babies is indicative of how pervasive and critical the liberal need is to control every aspect of our public discourse in order to advance and protect their agenda. Without control over stories such as this – without the silencing of the reality of the actual consequences of our abortion laws and policies – the lie that abortion is merely “a woman’s right to choose” would be exposed. Total media control over this narrative is the sine qua non of this agenda, as it is with so many of their policies.  The political entity that portrays itself as pro-choice (and it ONLY supports “choice” when it comes to ending a life, not in any other area of our lives) must in every way  ensure that these “choices” are made with incomplete knowledge, knowing FULL WELL that more complete knowledge would only lead to horrified rejection of the policies that they advocate – in the name of choice.  That coverage of such a trial is even a political issue demonstrates the depths of the depravity of our media and our culture.  How could there ever even be a question of covering this story?  For this simple reason:  the truth about this trial would force people to realize that abortion policies are about more than a woman’s ”right to choose” how she wants to live her life; it is about more than whether she should opt not to be “punished” with a child; it is about more than the sterile vacuuming of a few cells that might impede a woman from realizing her own full potential.  It is about the final, absolute, forever denying of all choices to that unborn child.

If rational people agree that murder is bad, and that life is good, then perhaps a rational discussion about abortion might begin by asking the questions, at what point does life begin, and at what point does the ending of a life become murder?  The rejection of those very questions as invasive of a woman’s right to deal with her own body is a rejection of the reality that the case of Dr. Gosnell forces us to see.  Are these lives, Yes or no?  Is it OK to have ended them, Yes or no?  The media’s deliberate hiding this from us reveals that they know what the answers to these questions will be.  YES they are lives, NO it is not OK to have ended them. And if those are the answers to those questions, we have opened the Pandora’s Box that they know will reveal their inhumanity.

How do we deal with this?  To be silent in the face of the media’s advocacy of an agenda  is to be equally complicit.  “Rage Against the Media” is an organization whose purpose is to fight for an objective media that reports rather than propagandizes.  The Democrat Party is free to describe and advance its position on abortion, as is the Republican Party; we live, however, under the illusion that we have free expression of diverse views here in America; what we have is a Fourth Estate which advocates for one side, rather than provide a forum for truth.  Far from tolerance and diversity, what we used to know of as journalism is, instead, as intolerant of other views as one could imagine, and as monolithic in their stances and story-telling as the Soviet-run Pravda – but even worse, as our “journalists” spout the party line voluntarily and with joy in their hearts.  Rage Against the Media fights back against this juggernaut by ensuring that the truth is told, by protests in social media as well as in the streets.  To fight the blackout of the Gosnell trial, we are hosting a “facebook flashmob” where we swarm each mainstream media site in turn, according to a schedule, and post articles from alternative media sources, blog posts, photos and simply our outrage to show their other readers and viewers that there is something out there that is being hidden from them.  Americans have a right to know the truth about the trial, about abortion, about the media’s decisions to, in fact, take away OUR CHOICE as readers by deciding for us what we should know. Bias du Jour, December 19: The Benghazi “report,” Time’s Person of the Year, and the “WAR ON GUNS” continued

As if yesterday wasn’t bad enough, last night the Benghazi “Report” was released, followed this morning by the phenomenally incomprehensible yet entirely predictable selection of Barack “I am the Messiah” Obama as Time’s “Person of the Year.”  And meanwhile, the “WAR ON GUNS” continues.

The Benghazi report said in as many ways as possible that it was all Hillary’s fault without ever suggesting she might in fact be held responsible.  According to the AP:

“An independent [sic] panel charged with investigating the deadly Sept. 11 attack in Libya that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans has concluded that systematic management and leadership failures at the State Department led to “grossly” inadequate security at the mission in Benghazi.

“Systematic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department resulted in a Special Mission security posture that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place,” the panel said.

Also from the report:

Communication, cooperation, and coordination among Washington, Tripoli, and Benghazi functioned collegially at the working-level but were constrained by a lack of transparency, responsiveness, and leadership at the senior levels. Among various Department bureaus and personnel in the field, there appeared to be very real confusion over who, ultimately, was responsible and empowered to make decisions based on both policy and security considerations.

Looks like a failure of leadership at the highest level, doesn’t it?  But really, this is moot anyway, isn’t it, as she had already taken full responsibility?

In addition, there was no mention of the President’s role, the specific explanation of the rejection of requests for more security (requests? They were all answered in a timely manner!!) , the youtube video on which the entire thing was blamed (and yes, he is STILL in prison) , any mention of where the weapons came from (even the New York Times was starting to tiptoe gently into that story) or where they were going.  In short, not one tiny iota of new information was provided.  And Hillary can safely look towards a joyous run in 2016, as long as she recovers from that nasty concussion.

Great articles about the “report” including about the areas never asked or answered, and which demonstrate the glaring and willful lack of, shall we say, curiosity, on the part of the mainstream media who merrily regurgitate the administration’s talking points, even as they use this to scoff at “right wing myths” that have not been corroborated by this exceedingly vaporous document.

As to the continued “WAR ON GUNS”, the President appointed Joe “Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?” Biden to head up a commission to somehow solve the nation’s “gun problem.”  Yes, Joe Biden who was also in charge of overseeing the taxpayer’s “stimulus” money, and most relevantly, the same Joe Biden who not at all famously said in 2008: “ If Obama ‘tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem’”

I think I’ve had all I can take for one day.  But I will close with this:
